HAGERSVILLE—The West Haldimand Hospital and Healthcare Foundation (WHHHF) launched a new campaign June 1, 2020 for individuals and businesses to make donations to the West Haldimand General Hospital (WHGH) in honour of their “Healthcare Heroes”. Since its launch, the initiative has already raised over $37,000.
“This shows that as a community we have come together to support the hospital when it is needed most!” said Penny Banks, WHHHF Director. “The support from our donors, community groups, and local businesses has been incredible. We are moved by the generosity of the community during this time.”
The largest donation so far was from Imperial Nanticoke Refinery. Part of the community since 1978, many of the refinery’s employees grew up locally. This made it an easy decision for them to personally support the donation, with the business and employees donating $5,614.
