WHHHF receives $10,000 donation from local business
JARVIS—On July 27, 2020, the West Haldimand Hospital and Healthcare Foundation (WHHHF) received its largest donation so far this year as Mary Jane and Laird McKeen of the Jarvis and Caledonia Timber Mart companies presented a $10,000 cheque to Penny Banks, WHHHF Director. The McKeens wanted to do something to help the community and their donation will be used by the foundation to provide for the highest priority medical needs. Banks was grateful to accept the generous gift on behalf of the WHHHF Board of Directors, especially during a year in which fundraising has been difficult. The recently launched WHHHF “Healthcare Heroes” campaign has now raised close to $50,000. Banks says, “It is an inspiration how the community steps up at times of need. I’m overwhelmed by how supportive the people of Haldimand County are. It’s a great community.” —Haldimand Press photo by Sheila Phibbs.
