HAGERSVILLE—Over the past few years, Hagersville Secondary School’s (HSS) Crime Stoppers’ group has raised money through multiple fundraisers. This effort has finally culminated in funding an outdoor lighting system for the track and playing field behind the school.

The Hagersville Crime Stoppers’ Breakfast, held at the school every year, was one fundraiser that helped fund the new lights. Money was also provided from the Grand Erie District School Board to purchase and install the lighting system.

The lights are solar powered. They have made early morning and evening practices safer and easier for school sports teams. They have also opened up opportunities for those in the community wishing to use the track before or after school hours for personal fitness.
