HALDIMAND—The Hagersville, Jarvis, and Townsend Lions clubs are challenging the youth of Haldimand County to learn volunteering by being part of the Lions organization as a LEO.
LEO is an acronym standing for Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity. Casually known as LEOs with the small letter “s” signifying the service component of our volunteer organization. LEO clubs encourage youth to develop leadership qualities by participating in social service activities. They are dependent on a Lions club to sponsor and mentor the LEOs. LEOs conduct self-initiated service projects within the community and beyond. LEOs can raise funds by conducting fund-raising projects or volunteer beside the Lions. LEOs can partner with other LEO clubs, a sponsoring Lions club or with other service organizations. LEO clubs are sponsored by Lions clubs and comprise an official program of Lions Clubs International.
