To the Editors,
My heart ached for Ms. Van Vliet when I read her beautiful and deeply troubling letter. It also made me very angry to read about judgmental predators who nourish their sadistic pleasure by preying on her vulnerabilities, with the clear intent to drive her deeper into despair. These people meet every definition of cowards and moral bankrupts.
There are over 100 biblical texts declaring that we must not judge, and only seven construed by some to denounce homosexuality, though many biblical scholars and theologians strongly disagree. Surely these people must have stumbled across at least a few of the 100 texts while scraping for the seven.
