HAGERSVILLE—Lisa Mattice and her two daughters, Hayley, 18, and Heidi, 13, made two signs thanking farmers and truck drivers. It was a project close to their heart, as Lisa’s husband Freddie owns Mattice Farms & Trucking, along with Mattice Elevators.
“Both the transportation and agriculture industries were deemed essential services right from the beginning when many businesses were forced shut down due to COVID-19,” said Lisa. “That meant that both Mattice Farms & Trucking and Mattice Elevators continued day-to-day operations. Our truck drivers continued crossing the Canada-US border, delivering to or picking up loads from farms, elevators, and feed mills.”
