TOWNSEND—At the end of this month, a few Townsend Lions will be cooking up a storm as they hope to sell out their annual barbecue chicken dinner for the second year in a row.
“Last year’s event went really well and was sold out!” said Lion Angela Payne. “This year’s event will be much the same but will have more health and safety precautions in place.”
Tickets must be pre-ordered by August 15 and only 100 tickets will be sold. As of August 6, 2020, 55 tickets had already been claimed. The dinner is $15 per person and includes a half chicken, coleslaw, baked potato, bun, and water. The event runs on August 29 from 4 to 7 p.m.
