OPP calls for patience on detour routes in Haldimand

CALEDONIA—Haldimand OPP is reminding all motorists to obey the rules of the road and be patient as traffic volumes have significantly increased in the area surrounding Caledonia.

Since Thursday, October 22, 2020 detour routes have been in place in Caledonia as a result of the road blockade demonstration activity. In the interest of public safety, motorists are being reminded to obey speed limits, drive with extra caution when observing a school bus, and always obey school bus signals. Drivers are being asked, above all, to be patient. Impatience and carelessness on the roadways often leads to collisions.
