DUNNVILLE—Haldimand OPP has charged a 37-year-old individual with impaired driving and drug possession following a traffic complaint on North Shore Drive in Dunnville.
On Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:26 a.m., OPP responded to the area of North Shore Drive for a report of a traffic complaint.
OPP located the vehicle in the area and investigated.
While speaking with the individual, signs of impairment were detected and the individual was arrested. Tests administered by a Drug Recognition Evaluator determined the individual was impaired by drug. Further investigation and search of the vehicle resulted in police locating a quantity of illicit drugs.
OPP has charged a 37-year-old of Cayuga with:
- Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drug
- Possession of a schedule I substance (2 counts)
- Drive a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Drive motor vehicle – no driver’s licence
The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
