HALDIMAND—After the remains of 215 children were recently found at the site of the former Kamloops Residential School in British Columbia, flags are being lowered to half-mast across the country in mourning.
Beginning May 31 flags at all Haldimand and Norfolk County public facilities were lowered. The flags will be lowered for nine days, which amounts to 215 hours to represent the life of each child lost.
