DUNNVILLE — Grace United Church in Dunnville is celebrating its 25th year of supporting the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
The Canadian Foodgrains Bank was founded in 1983 and is now made up of 15 church denominations and church agencies from coast to coast. There are different ways of supporting and donating to this cause. Some supporters in rural areas have the use of donated land where crops are planted, harvested, and then sold, with proceeds going to the Foodgrains Bank. In urban centres, money is raised through donations, concerts, and fundraising projects. This past June, the Ontario Foodgrains held an online auction, with over 250 items being donated. The results of the auction brought in $10,300 for Foodgrains.
