SOUTH CAYUGA—Late local car enthusiast and diehard Ford fan John Smith was recently honoured in the best way possible one year after his untimely death, with a car show put on by his closest family and friends in his memory.
John, a diesel mechanic by trade, was described as a “good guy to know” by his brother Bill. He was known for his sizeable collection of vintage cars, totaling 14 at the time of his death. Last summer, on August 5, 2020, John was working on one of his cars when he suffered a tragic accident, with the car falling on him while he worked, pinning him underneath and leading to his death.
