Speeding leads to impaired charges

CAYUGA — On September 25, 2021 at 9 p.m., Haldimand OPP was conducting speed enforcement on Munsee Street North in Cayuga.

A traffic stop was conducted and, while speaking with the driver, signs of alcohol consumption were detected. The individual was transported to an out-of-town OPP detachment for additional testing.

A 45-year-old of Cayuga is charged with the following offences:

  • Driving a motor vehicle while impaired
  • Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood
  • Having liquor in open container in other than licenced premises, residence, or private place.

The accused is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
