Our January general meeting was held Thursday, January 27, 2022 by Zoom.
Members logged in to enjoy a presentation by our guest speaker, beekeeper Micheline Higgins.
For the past four years her bee yard has produced lots of honey and her presentation of bee facts was very interesting.

An article I came across discussed the benefits of unpasturized honey as a rooting hormone. Honey has anti-fungus and anti-bacterial properties and protects the cuttings from pathogens; it allows the natural rooting hormones in the cutting to stimulate root growth. Succulents can also be dipped in honey and placed on top of the potting soil. In a few weeks time, the roots will start growing from the lower part of the leaves.
Honey can be used for water propagation, too. Dip the cutting in the honey, put straight in water, and once the root gets to be about one inch in length it can be potted.
