DUNNVILLE — Haldimand OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, and Haldimand County Emergency Services (EMS) responded to a structure fire on Highway 3 in Dunnville on May 7, 2022, at 4:13 p.m.
The residence was occupied by one person at the time of the fire, but they were able to exit the building. One family member, who was not inside the residence, attempted to rescue the family pets but suffered from smoke inhalation and was transported to a local hospital for assessment. All animals were accounted for and safely reunited with their owners. The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal was notified but did not attend the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation however it is not deemed to be suspicious.
