Three children injured in single motor vehicle collision

CALEDONIA—On June 26, 2022, at 7:54 p.m., Haldimand OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, and Haldimand County Emergency Services responded to a report of a collision involving a single motor vehicle on Highway 6 south of Greens Road in Caledonia.

The vehicle had left the roadway and flipped onto its side.

One child that was a passenger in the vehicle was transported to an out-of-town hospital with serious injuries, a second child was also transported to an out-of-town hospital with minor injuries, and a third child was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver was not hurt and was found to be driving with an expired licence. While speaking with the driver, signs of impairment were observed and as a result, the driver provided a roadside test in which they registered an “Alert”. Subsequently, a three-day suspension was served to the driver.
