HALDIMAND—Haldimand OPP, along with the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, located the body of an overdue boater in Lake Erie at approximately 4:15 p.m. on June 22, 2022.
On Thursday, June 16 at 5:20 p.m., Haldimand County OPP received a dispatch call for a missing 74-year-old male that had gone fishing at 4 a.m. and had not yet returned. Haldimand OPP, OPP Marine Unit, OPP Aviation Services, Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, Niagara Regional Police, and Canadian Coast Guard members responded to help search for the boater.
Victim Services has been engaged with the family members.
