HALDIMAND — Toward the end of June, a number of unconfirmed cougar sightings on Six Nations of the Grand River prompted local police to issue safety warnings to residents in the area.
The main sighting was reported on June 29 at 6:45 p.m., when a resident of Chiefswood Road reported a large cat in their driveway. The animal was described as having black fur and a long tail. According to the caller, it ran off into the bush near Second Line Road.
