HAGERSVILLE—For several weeks, a small but dedicated team has been working out in the field just beyond the Empire Communities office located on County Road 20 in Hagersville to complete an archaeological assessment ahead of a planned development on the lands by Empire.
The company handling the assessment is Archaeological Research Associates (ARA), a Guelph-based archaeological and heritage consulting firm.
The crew on site has placed a series of orange flags along the surface of the field and are working in conjunction with representatives from both Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN).
