Traffic stop results in drug charges

DUNNVILLE—On September 5, 2022, at 6 p.m., Haldimand OPP and Haldimand County Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) charged a 28-year-old individual with drug offences following an ongoing investigation in Dunnville and surrounding communities. 

Information obtained by the CSCU indicated that a male party was trafficking illegal drugs in his personal vehicle. 

A traffic stop was initiated by members of the Haldimand  OPP Detachment and CSCU, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.

A large quantity of suspected cocaine, currency, and cell phones were seized. The vehicle was also seized and the investigation is continuing.  

OPP has charged the accused, from Dunnville, with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
