SIX NATIONS—Seeing Red 6Nations is proud to have partnered with Kaha:wi Dance Theatre to present “Inviting The Land to Shape Us – Creation Lab”. Seeing Red 6Nations exists to amplify the voices and vision of established and emerging Indigenous storytellers and saw Kaha:wi’s Creation Lab as an excellent opportunity to put that into practice locally.
Hosted at Talking Earth Studio & Lands on Six Nations of the Grand River, this weeklong interdisciplinary lab was curated and facilitated by renowned Kahnyen’kehàka (Mohawk) multidisciplinary artist Santee Smith, along with guest speakers and facilitators.
“Nia:wen kowa/big thank you to Bryan Porter and Stevie Salas at Seeing Red 6Nations for supporting earth-based creativity,” said Smith. “It was an epic experience, grounding into clay/earth … with an incredible line-up of facilitators sharing their knowledge and a transformative week with participants. One of the most meaningful of Kaha:wi’s offerings and we look forward to next year’s artist-led lab.”
