NELLES CORNERS—The Haldimand 4-H Association held its first in-person Sign Up Day since 2020 on January 28, 2023 at WJ Heaslip Ltd. in Nelles Corners. Among the many members gearing up for a new season of 4-H are senior members Cassidy Thompson (left) and Emma Smith, who will be in the Dairy Club this year. Both have been in 4-H for eight years.

The Heidman sisters, Janessa (left) and Katerina are looking forward to several clubs in 2023. The pair will be in the Miniature Horse and Cut Flower Clubs while Janessa, 11, is also in the Sheaf Club and Katerina, 13, is in the Rabbit and Get Cracking Clubs.

Many families attended the Haldimand 4-H Sign Up Day, not only to sign up for 2023 clubs but also to enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast courtesy of WJ Heaslip Ltd. Pictured at the breakfast are the Wallman family (l-r): Eli, Jonas, Maya, Lee-Ann, Zoey, and Andrew. Eli enjoyed his first year as a member in 2022 and is returning to the Beef and Rabbit Clubs this year.

4-H leader Sara Tiersma is happy to have both her children, Austin Boult (left) and Alyssa Tiersma involved in 4-H this year. Austin, 10, will be in the Dairy Club and Alyssa, 7, is excited to join the Cloverbuds, which is a newly launched pre-4-H club for children six to eight years of age.
