To the Editors,
After reading a study by a group of academics taken over a period of nine months in relation to COVID-19, I conclude that they made their conclusions based on misinformation. This misinformation led to 2,800 people dying!
When this COVID first started in 2019 I was supposed to be one of the most vulnerable to catch it. But here I am after a few years passing, with no vaccination needed.
I have never referenced the pandemic as a hoax, but the one question I have for this study is, “Did any of these people who died receive ivermectin before they died?”
A doctor in this country who attempted to treat his patients with ivermectin has been crucified – all for trying to help his patients. Doctors in this country have been forced to break their oath if their understanding of how to best treat their patients doesn’t line up with the government’s decision.
Doctors are not alone in this crucifixion and fight against misinformation. Before the last federal election, The Hamilton Spectator ran a lengthy article from a Torstar employee supposedly debunking Derek Sloan (a former MP and current leader of the Ontario Party, who has been outspoken against pandemic restrictions and treatment methods for COVID), along with many other individuals and groups.
Doctors need to be able to treat their patients to the best of their knowledge, and to share their successes with other doctors for future treatments. Canadians need to be able to share information freely without threat of losing their professional standing.
