
HAGERSVILLE—People gathered in towns across Haldimand on or around Earth Day (April 22, 2023) to clean up trash and dispose of it properly. Members of the Haldimand Horticultural Society held their Clean and Green Earth Day event on Sunday, April 23. The group was pleased to have 11 participants, with multiple bags of garbage picked up, including beverage cups, straws, scrap metal, yard signs, beer cans, beer bottle caps, candy wrappers, plastic bottles, and even a toilet. The event ran from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting at the Hagersville Arena and ending at the Haldimand Memorial Arboretum and Hagersville Lions Pool.
