To the Editor,
I have an ongoing issue with the recycling program in Haldimand County. I have had a blue box full of 100% plastic rejected, again, and left on my lawn.
The last time this happened, I refused to recycle plastics and put them into the garbage containers only to have that rejected as “unsuitable” waste.
It’s very clear to me, the recycling program is nothing short of a scam because I know that a good majority of collected “recyclable” waste is actually directed to landfill. I have attempted to address Council a few times on this issue with no success. The mayor and Council will not even allow me to address the problem. I’m beginning to see a connection here.
