Beloved and cherished father, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in his 92nd year, at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville. Howard’s departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. Born to Thomas and Gladys Cowie, Howard grew up in a loving family, eventually building his own with his beloved wife Maxine M. (Drinkill) Cowie, who preceded him in death. Howard was a devoted father to his children: Tom Cowie, the late Holly Smith, Debbie (Ron) Bowden, Roger (Susan) Cowie, Paula (Allan) Parker, and Crystal (Allan) Pogson. His role as a grandfather to 12 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren brought him immense joy and pride. He is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Graham and Eleanor Drinkill, who shared many cherished moments with him. Howard was predeceased by his brother Ewart (Lavine) Cowie, leaving behind fond memories of their time together. His niece, nephews, and their families will deeply miss Howard. Howard’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the South Cayuga Community Church, 6182 Rainham Rd, Dunnville, Ontario.
