FISHERVILLE—On the last weekend of March, the Fisherville Lions presented their 66th annual variety show. This year’s theme celebrated 70 years of the Lions in their community.
This year’s program was aptly called Happy Days. The show featured many talents of residents and Lions, with many entertaining skits and musical numbers.
The club had three successful sold out nights and the audiences enjoyed the down-home humour and the musical talents of the cast.
Lion Jim Rohrbach stated, “We are just so happy to have the crowds that we have. They come from miles around, and the same people come every year. It is amazing when the guests that we have come in.”
“The talent that we have come in, it is phenomenal; we have a lot of outside people,” he added. “They are such an addition to our show. It is awesome to bring the community together. And it is a tremendous fundraiser for the community.”
Since establishing seven decades ago, Fisherville Lions have continued to expand their work, from building a community centre and ball fields, organizing events, and donating funds back to their community.
