SPRINGVALE—The Springvale United Church held its annual Spring Ham and Turkey Dinner on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. It was another sell-out event serving 180 take-out meals. The members of the church served up heaping portions of ham and turkey, with all the fixings like potatoes, stuffing, corn, and plenty of gravy. There was a large selection to choose from as well to be taken home for dessert or a late-night snack. There were many hands involved, including two ladies from the church who greeted everyone on entry. Volunteers packing meals (above) included Rev Peggy Bartlett, Patsy Rutherford, Janelle Charlton, Cathy Zdunich, Rhonda Mattice, and Cheryl Buckborough, while Mona Hindman and Debbie Berry were serving pies (below right). Back in the kitchen was an army of cooks and helpers, including Jamie Buckborough and Sharon Kauk (below left) who were packing the ham and turkey into the take-out packaging. —Haldimand Press photos by Kerry J Newstead.
