It is with profound shock and sadness that the family of Jocelyn Jacobs announces her sudden passing on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 56 years young. Predeceased by her parents John and Muriel Murney. She will be extremely missed by her devastated husband Bill Jacobs and daughter Dakota, who was the light of her life. Dear sister to Linda Sorenson, Corrine Forbes, Karlene Murney and brother Kelly John Murney. She will be remembered by her mother-in-law Frances Emslie, sisters-in-law Debi Jacobs (Dan), Dawn Jacobs (Randy), and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Les Sorenson, sister in-law Marlene Murney as well as her father-in-law William Jacobs, Tom Emslie, and brother-in-law Wayne Jacobs. Jocelyn was a true lover of life. She was a shining light and a blast at any gathering she went to. She was loved by all who met her for her kindness, razor-sharp wit, and beautiful, genuine smile. She was selfless, patient, and a voice of reason even at the toughest of times. Anyone who has had the privilege of spending time with Jocelyn knows that there is no one else like her. Jocelyn was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and grew up in the small town of Semans, Saskatchewan. She excelled at curling, winning the Provincial Highschool Championship as skip of her team. She was an employee of Regina Social Services until a chance meeting of Bill brought her to Ontario, where she thrived as a cherished employee at the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton. She will be immensely missed by her fellow coworkers who were like family to her. A Celebration of Jocelyn’s Life will take place at a later date where family and friends are welcomed. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Burford Volunteer Firefighters who fought valiantly to save Jocelyn. A special thank you to the compassionate, caring staff and doctors at the Critical Care Unit, in particular Meredith for her considerate and thoughtful care at the Brantford General Hospital.
