Excessive speed leads to numerous charges for Caledonia resident

CALEDONIA—A driver has been charged with numerous offences following a traffic stop on McClung Road in Caledonia.

On December 8, 2025 at approximately 12:10 a.m., members of the Haldimand OPP observed a vehicle that brought attention to the officers, and a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result of the traffic stop, a 24-year-old from Caledonia has been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act offences:

  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Speeding 50+ km/hr over posted limit
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Obstruct plate
  • Use illegal licence

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on January 9, 2026.

The charges have not been proven in court.
