I received a copy of Grandview Lodge Dunnville’s cookbook ‘Cooking Up Memories’ for Christmas from my son and family. I really enjoy these types of books as they contain those family favourite – tried and true recipes. This great book is a collection of recipes from residents, staff, families, and volunteers at Grandview Lodge where my daughter-in-law Jane’s dad, Bob Flint, resides.
Maria Vanderhorst contributed her Portuguese custard tart recipe. My friends Charlie and Sarah Richardson have talked about these tarts, but I had never tried them. I will certainly make this recipe again as they are delicious.
Dierdre Norton shared her spaghetti pie recipe. It is a dinner in a dish and simple to make as it contains a store-bought jar of spaghetti sauce.
Jackie Cowan’s one-hour dinner rolls are not hard to make and are also very good. When I tried them I used my mixer, but you could use a wooden spoon and hand mix them.
