SELKIRK—A driver is facing severa charges after a traffic stop. On May 18, 2026 at approximately 1:50 p.m., while on general patrol, a member of the Haldimand OPP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle being operated on Main Street in Selkirk.
The investigation determined that the driver failed to produce appropriate documents and was subsequently placed under arrest. A 59-year-old Milton resident has been charged with:
Obstruction of a peace officer
Driving while under suspension (two counts)
Owner operating a motor vehicle without insurance
Driving a motor vehicle with no plates
Operating unsafe vehicle
Failure to identify self
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on July 21, 2026. The charges have not been proven in court.
