CREDIT—The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation welcomed visitors with a hearty “boozhoo” to the 38th annual Three Fires Homecoming Pow Wow & Traditional Gathering.
The event took place August 21-23, 2026 on Mississauga Road just north of Hagersville. The weekend opened with an entertainment night on the Friday with local bands and karaoke, while Saturday and Sunday provided a full day of traditional drumming and dancing alongside a showcase of Indigenous vendors featuring fashion, art, food, and more.
While some bad weather limited crowds and dances compared to previous years, visitors and participants alike were immersed in Indigenous culture, with various exhibits, story tellings, and other teachings.
A focus remained on Mother Earth, with attendees asked to bring their own utensils, dinnerware, and reusable water bottles to reduce waste.
