The arrival of the 1920s came in with a roar. It was all about automobiles, speakeasies, bathtub gin, and jazz music. It was a new era. WWI was over and it was a time of opulence. Woman had won the right to vote and with their new independence came change. Fashion went from doughty suits to short flippy flapper dresses. Women started to wear makeup and bobbed their hair. Jazz music took over the radio and the dancing craze began. Haldimand was full of promise. A new arena was built in Dunnville and Hagersville and Caledonia built new high schools.
