1948 – 2025

On September 25, 2025, Murray peacefully succumbed to the ravages of Alzheimer’s. Predeceased by his parents, Norman and Helen, Murray is survived by Donna (née Willard) his wife of 56 years, his sons Aaron (Laura) and Adam (formerly married to Kristina), and his daughter Kathy (Ian). He was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren: Nick, Ben, Nova, Véronique, Charlotte, Aurélie and Evelyn. Though an engineer and businessman by profession, Murray lived a life rich with passions and pursuits. He loved to travel, was an experienced photographer, and an avid student of karate. He enjoyed ballroom dancing with his beautiful wife and found joy in engaging in music, playing the flute, as well as both six- and twelve-string guitar. He loved to sing, which he used often as a scout leader in the Mississauga District. As a scouter, Murray was one of the few at the time who had 3 beads (signifying he was an Assistant Leader Trainer). Even in the end, he could still be heard singing rousing renditions of scout camp songs! The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of Ward 2C at Credit Valley Hospital, where Murray spent his final weeks, and to the Evergreen Retirement Community for the ongoing support.

In accordance with his wishes, Murray has been cremated. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 2 – 5 p.m. at Turner and Porter Funeral Home, 1981 Dundas Street West in Mississauga, Ontario. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favourite charity or The Alzheimer’s Society of Peel.
