Passed away at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the age of 78. Dear father of Simon (Shelley), Stephanie (Mother Barbara), Charley, Chloe, Abbey, Madisson and Lilly. Will be greatly missed by the children’s mother, Denise, and by his siblings Tony Smith, June Wilson (Peter), Donovan (late Christine), (late) Kevin (late Gillian), and Loraine Onions (Christopher). Loving grandfather to Sloane, Olivia, Nathan and Sierra. Son to the late Donovan and Clara (nee Tute). Cherished companion of Maggie. Ivan will be missed by his extended family and friends. Though many memories of Ivan are those of his love for going fishing, appreciation for birds, and an avid hockey player for the Halton Paramedic Hockey Team; many remember Ivan for his many years of service and dedication as a Paramedic and Logistics Officer with the Halton Region and as the advocate in the establishment of the Halton Honour Guard. Funeral Service at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 1 p.m. followed by a time of fellowship after the service.
