It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden yet peaceful passing of Richard “Dick” Simington on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Predeceased by his parents Wray and Ellen Simington.  He will be missed immensely by his best friend and adoring partner of 40 years, Barbara.  Loved and cherished father to Mark (Sam), Todd (Carie), Terry (Sherri), and Kevin. Proud and adored Papa to Courtney, Brady (Zoe), Grace, Luke, Travis (Kaitlin), Christine (Trevor), Chantal (Tyrus), and Daniel.  Honoured Great-Papa to Lexa and Walker.  Dear brother of Paul (Val), John (Marg), and Lynne; brother-in-law to Jim (Barb), Nancy, Darlene (Cam), Karl (Marion). Dick will be missed by many nephews, nieces and friends. Predeceased by brother Don “Ern”, parents-in-law Warren Phibbs, Mary Jane and John Riley, brother-in-law Sandy, and daughter Angie. After over 20 years of dedicated service, Dick retired from Tim Tires in Hagersville. He spent many Saturday nights at the Hagersville arena cheering on the Hagersville Hawks, helping to sell their Meat Draw and 50/50 tickets, and enjoying socializing with friends.  Those who knew Dick, always knew where to find him on a Sunday afternoon – downstairs cheering on his favourite football team the Buffalo Bills – and most hockey nights on the T.V., he could be heard cheering for his Buffalo Sabres. Not one to pass on his favorite rye, a frozen Snickers bar, ice cream cones after grandkids’ sports, or any chance to share a good story with a mischievous grin and a chuckle – he leaves behind fond memories for all who were lucky enough to know him. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment of ashes to follow.  A Celebration of Dick’s Life will take place at Branch # 164 of the Royal Canadian Legion, 5 Alma Street North, Hagersville on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. Memories of Dick to be shared at 3 p.m. SERENITY BURIAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 361 Main Street, Port Dover (226) 290-9093 have been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Norfolk Haldimand Community Hospice, P.O. Box 658, Port Dover, Ontario N0A 1N0.  Online condolences can be left at www.serenityburialandcremation.com
