Anson Place Care Centre is deeply saddened to report the passing of three additional residents since our last update. The families have been made aware and we understand how devastating it is to lose loved ones and cherished members of our community.
Today’s announcement brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths at Anson Place Care Centre to 22. Out of those 22 deaths, 19 were within our care centre and 3 were within our retirement residence. The confirmed positive cases continue to remain the same at 70 residents, with 49 from our long-term care residence and 21 from our retirement residence.
Anson Place Care Centre continues to work closely with Public Health, various provincial Ministries, and the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority to ensure all new and ongoing directives are in place to manage the current outbreak. All residents are isolated in their rooms and are receiving meals in their rooms. They are also having their temperature checked at least twice daily.
Staff are being screened on entry and departure and are wearing PPEs at all times.
We have been overwhelmed by the support from the community. Thank you to HGH Nursing Home, Highway Pentecostal Church, and local realtor Chuck Hogeterp for their food donations; Jeff’s Lawn Care for the donation of flowers in front of our home (picture attached), and all the family members and community groups who have continued to drop off masks, food deliveries and care packages for the Anson Place Team. A further thank you to Kaye Varga and Family who wrote into the Haldimand Press about Anson Place Care Centre and the care we provided John before his unfortunate passing. His passing, and all others, have been felt by each of us – the residents, the care team, and the community.
We are truly grateful to each and every one of our residents, families, staff, and community.
