Barrett praises Conservative’s first budget

HALDIMAND—MPP Toby Barrett says Ontario’s 2019 budget is a responsible plan, not only for this year ahead, but for the future.

“This budget means we are on our way to paying down the deficit in five years while recognizing we have to protect healthcare and education,” said Barrett.

The majority of the $163 billion budget focuses on health care and education spending. Barrett, a former high school teacher, says despite what we have been hearing, spending in 2019 will increase in both healthcare and education. Barrett continued to say that debates regarding class sizes are misguided.
