Collecting school supplies for local kids in need

HALDIMAND—United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk is proud to be hosting their second annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive. With this drive, they are collecting new school materials to help low-income students within the community.

Until August 18, 2019 donation bins in the Norfolk area can be found in Superstore, Staples, and all branches of Norfolk County Public Libraries. In the Haldimand area, donation bins can be found in Zehrs, Haldimand County Public Library (Caledonia, Dunnville, Jarvis), and both Giant Tiger locations.

United Way has provided a “wish list” of school supplies that community members are encouraged to donate, including backpacks, lunch packs, 12” rulers, three ring binders, #2 pencils, highlighters, pens, erasers, glue sticks, sharpeners, spiral notebooks, three-hole paper, index dividers, pencil cases, crayons, scissors, and both scientific and regular calculators. The most needed and least donated item is backpacks.
