CALEDONIA—Fifty years ago, from August 15 to 18, 1969, music fans attended a music festival widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history. More than 400,000 attendees arrived in Bethel, New York, hiked in past abandoned cars, dodged torrential downpours, danced on muddy grounds, barely slept, and left behind soaked camping gear.
What they gained was an enduring sense of community and three days of peace, and music.
Caledonia plans to commemorate this event on Friday, August 16, 2019 with Woodstock Riverside Revival: one night of peace, love, and music.
