Girls take part in track championships

Most students view March Break as a chance to take a trip somewhere  (usually south), or just an excuse to “veg-out” for a week in the school year.

Not so for two Haldimand track athletes – they travelled to Smith Falls on Friday, March 15, 2019 to prepare for a Saturday morning hop to Montreal to take part in the Canadian Indoor Track and Field Championships, being held at the Claude Robillard Centre. And it was not a wasted trip.

Although in separate age groups – Thompson in the under-16, and Sharpe in the under-18 – they each came home with a medal for their specialty, the race walks.
