HAGERSVILLE—On Saturday, April 20, 2024 four young Hagersville hopefuls travelled to Port Colborne to compete in round two of the Lions Effective Speaking Contest after advancing through the first round on April 9. All four represented Hagersville Elementary School, with Vanessa Ferreira placing second and Forester Armstrong third in the Junior Division. In the Intermediate Division, Jazmin Rampartab and Lucas Bailey shared fourth place, edged out by some very excellent speeches. It was a learning experience for our speakers who will hopefully return stronger than ever next year.
