HAGERSVILLE—Hagersville’s Keaton Garvie was part of a two-person team who took home gold in the Powerline Technician category at the recent province-wide Skills Ontario competition in Toronto.
Andrew King, one of Garvie’s professors at Cambrian College described watching the competition unfold, “That moment I watched the tasks unfold, I realized they ‘had this’ which made it a memory I will keep forever. This exposure and the networking that the students experienced will definitely help in creating friendships and opportunities within the industry. A sense of pride helps with the confidence to succeed.”

Cambrian students have traditionally placed well at the event, winning three gold and three bronze medals since 2017. For more information on the program visit cambriancollege.ca/powerline.
