CALEDONIA — Haldimand Horticultural Society (HHS) hosted a Green & Clean event on Friday, April 22, 2022 in celebration of Earth Day. They had 12 volunteers come out and the event was supported by Haldimand County, who provided gloves, garbage bags, and garbage grabbers. “Thank you to our volunteers, who were from the Haldimand Horticultural Society, Friends of La Fortune Park, and Haldimand Insurance Brokers,” said Barb Wilson of HHS. “We focused on the north side of Caledonia, began at the Caledonia Train Station and walked east along the CNR Rail Trail heading towards the Empire Avalon Estates community on Regional Road 22/McClung Road. We then circled back through the Burke Estates Park returning to the train station. A few volunteers focused on the Ramsey Park trail along Forfar Street east towards the water treatment plant and west towards the old mill,” said HHS member and volunteer Sharon Slack (Right photo courtesy of Sharon Slack).
