CAYUGA—Laughter, costumes, and the crunch of autumn leaves filled the air as families gathered for Community Living Haldimand’s second annual outdoor Halloween Trick or Treat Trail at River Road Nature School outside of Cayuga on Saturday, October 18, 2025. With warm fall weather and sunshine overhead, conditions were perfect for the 180 children and their families who came out to enjoy an afternoon of trick-or-treating, crafts, and community fun.

The event featured a lively outdoor trail lined with themed stations where over 30 volunteers handed out candy and treats. Children arrived in creative costumes, eager to explore the trail and take part in Halloween-inspired activities.
Inside the school, kids could decorate trick-or-treat bags, make crafts, and visit the popular temporary tattoo station. Before heading home, each child stopped by the pumpkin patch to choose their own pumpkin, a perfect way to wrap up the day.
Attendees also supported local food banks by bringing non-perishable food donations, adding a spirit of giving to the day’s festivities.
Community Living Haldimand CEO and volunteer Bob Butella expressed his gratitude to all the volunteers, businesses, and families who made the event such a success.
“It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate, give back, and enjoy such a beautiful fall day. We couldn’t have done the event without local businesses: Richardson’s Farm and Market for the discount pumpkins, Cayuga Foodland for the discounted candy and chips, River Road Nature School for hosting us,” he said.
