DUNNVILLE—GrandErie Home Hardware Building Centre welcomed families, friends, and neighbours to a weekend of fall festivities and community fun on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20, 2025, marking the celebration of their Harvest Heydays event and the grand opening of the new Kitchen & Bath Design Centre.
The Kitchen & Bath Design Centre opened its doors with a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday morning, complete with a unique tea towel ribbon and speeches from key team members. Guests were invited to tour the 3,000-square-foot showroom, which features inspiring displays of kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and more. Visitors also had the opportunity to meet the talented design team and enter a $1,000 design credit giveaway to kickstart their home renovation dreams.
“Our new Kitchen & Bath Design Centre allows us to help families bring their dream kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms to life,” said Andy McFarland, Kitchen Design Lead. “It was wonderful to meet so many community members, share design ideas, and show them how we can make their home improvement visions a reality.”
Friday evening featured a cozy outdoor movie night in the Garden Centre with Lilo & Stitch, where families brought lawn chairs, enjoyed games, and relaxed under the stars. Many attendees also chose to make donations to the Salvation Army in support of the community. Fresh pizza was sold in support of Edgewater Gardens’ Family Council, while movie treats were available from the Dunnville Christian School.
The Garden Centre was transformed into a vibrant fall wonderland with pumpkins, mums, corn stalks, and straw bales. Saturday ordered a jam-packed lineup of family-friendly activities, including morning goat yoga sessions, a petting zoo, face painting, bouncy castles, a corn-on-the-cob eating contest won by Timothy Richardson, kids’ crafts, and a festive photo backdrop.
Guests decorated leaves to add to a community tree, met author Sherryl Tuttle of the Kids with Capes series, enjoyed live music from Chad Charles Campbell, and participated in sourdough bread starter demonstrations taught by local resident Christina Carter. Community charities added to the fun while raising funds for important causes. Dunnville Firefighters Station 9 grilled hotdogs and hamburgers in support of their fire hall, and Jill Battle hosted a bake sale in support of Team Addison Canada, helping spread awareness of Addison’s Disease.
“Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces this weekend was amazing,” said Don Kenney, Store Manager. “From families exploring our new Kitchen & Bath Design Centre to kids enjoying all the activities in the Garden Centre, it was truly a celebration for the whole community. Events like this remind us why we love being part of Dunnville – it’s about bringing people together and creating memories.”
GrandErie Home Hardware thanks all attendees, staff, and community partners for helping make Harvest Heydays a memorable weekend of fun, creativity, and community connection.
The event exemplified the company’s ongoing commitment to providing engaging experiences while supporting local families and charities.
