The church was transformed with an atmosphere that captured the spirit of 150 years ago.

The space was filled with vintage train-themed decor, memorabilia, historical posters, and backdrops. Guests explored displays of old suitcases, trunks, and railway lanterns, and even saw a statue of Henry Ford, highlighting the era’s rich connection to transportation and industry.

The event was the effort of the High Tea Committee, consisting of Sandra House, Dale Vecero, Brenda Gallent, Beverly Petheram, and Jo-Ann Duns, with help of many members of the congregation.

Larry Lunn, local train enthusiast and former employee of Railroad Companies, spoke of the changes he witnessed in the area working on the railway over the years. His presentation also honoured Hagersville’s railway heritage and brought local history to life.

The event was a memorable success and honoured the heritage of the town of Hagersville.
