YORK—Haldimand OPP has charged a 28-year-old with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision at a Haldimand Road 9, York address that initially left 4,985 Hydro One customers without power earlier this week.
On Monday, October 28, 2019 at 10:26 p.m. Hydro One noted the power outage. Three minutes later, OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, and Haldimand County paramedics responded to Haldimand Road 9 where a passer-by reported a pickup truck had struck a utility pole, causing wires to come down onto the roadway. A witness further reported the vehicle had left the scene of the collision.
