International exhibit gets taste of Haldimand talent

YORK—A local artist is celebrating international success. York-based painter and author Jennifer Sarah Tansley attended this year’s JordanCon in Atlanta, Georgia and became the first non-US resident to sell her work there.

“I brought in 26 art pieces, mostly a collection of flora and fauna pieces I’d created,” Tansley told the Press. “I had a lot of success for my first show outside Canada. Because I was their first internationally-selling artist, they had a problem issuing me a paycheque, which is always a good problem to have.”
